Crap-O-Death !!

Horror Has A Name
Richard Chu © 10/23/2009

I felt it, The Death, once again, was looming large,
like a big shadow in a beautiful sunny day,

Knocking on our door, once again, in such urgency,

Reaching far out its tentacles,
Like a giant Octopus, it was ready to make another score
For its today’s fresh catch

So ugly and so powerful, so quietly and yet so irresistibly
It came…
And it came…

With no excuse, nor mercy,
Or any false pretence

It came
To claim another life of its prey

Without a word,
Or any apologetic posture

It came
And took one more
life for its newly polished trophy

…………..

Defeated.
So I surrendered
under its ever extended power,
I knelt on my knees before its feet
Begging for its mercy.

With no avail…

Letting it take what it came for
I made it easy for its needs.

Surrendering,
I turned my back and pretend
To be blind
I made it easy for its day

Letting it take away with it – without a fight -
Mewmew, the cat, our first child –

A preciously cherished piece of
Our All-Precious-life-as-a-whole…

A life, departed and separated
And broken,
Apart.

Martin Luther King Would Have Loved the Teabaggers, Not Called Them Racists
Friday 02 October 2009
by: Mike Elk, t r u t h o u t | Perspective

A few weeks ago, I attended the teabagger protests in DC. The thing I noticed the most about the folks there was that, for the most part, they were friendly, nice, hardworking people. Sure, there were some crazies; sure, there were some racists. For the most part, though, they looked like the type of folks I grew up with in the labor movement, coming to DC to enjoy a protest and spend the rest of the weekend taking in some monuments and museums. These weren't rich suburbanites; the teabaggers I saw were mainly poor people, whose trip to DC were probably the only the vacation they would be able to afford this year. (Full Story)

Firms Are Getting Billions, but Homeowners Still in Trouble
by: Chris Adams, McClatchy Newspapers

Washington - The federal government is engaged in a massive mortgage modification program that's on track to send billions in tax dollars to many of the very companies that judges or regulators have cited in recent years for abusive mortgage practices. (Full Story)
